Here words are understood as the representations of the past, the present, and the future, allowing the critical examination of those histories untold by the mainstream discourse.
Coming from a background of oral repression I have come to view the use of language as a space of oppression, yet at the same time, a place of revolution: Language not only seeks to resist, but it also insists, and it is through these polarities, these dualities, that resistance takes place. To question the use of language and the words that dominate it, is to challenge the formed as a means of forming.
It traces the transfigurations of the human condition.
It is through language that I understand who I am, am not, and who I wish to become, and it is through language that I seek to grow and understand, and it is through the worlds of language that I invite you to join me on this journey of self resistance.
